How do Orthotics work?

Orthotics work by providing support to take the strain off painful areas, fix imbalances, or correct dysfunctions in the way you move. For example, if you’re dealing with heel pain, your orthotics can provide cushioning and better heel and arch support to redistribute your weight to other areas of your foot. This will take the pressure off your heel and will help you to walk more naturally.

To ensure your orthotics will correct your unique issues, they are designed based on an assessment of your symptoms, the shape of your feet, and the way you move. We’ll start by speaking with you about your medical history and what issues you’re facing, and identify what you want to get out of your orthotics. We then perform an assessment that includes gait analysis (which means analyzing the way you walk), a biomechanical assessment and then take an impression or imprint of your feet to create orthotics that are perfectly tailored to your needs to help bring your feet back to proper alignment.

Types of Orthotics:

provide padding and support to take the strain off the problem areas of your foot. They are great for providing rapid relief from painful feet and helping your feet heal.

are designed to correct the mechanics of your feet. The way they are shaped and how they support the foot can correct the way your weight is distributed, improve your posture, or change the way you walk. By retraining your body to move more efficiently, these orthotics can correct your foot issues that cause pain elsewhere in the body, such as in your knees, legs, or back.

Your Custom Designed Solution

Some pharmacies and retailers may offer orthotics insoles and orthotic shoes that you can purchase off-the-shelf, but that is never a good choice. For one, when you wear orthotics that weren’t specially designed for you, they can actually make your issues worse.

By contrast, all of our orthotics are custom made, which is essential to getting effective results. As opposed to a one-size-fits-all solution, they are carefully designed just for you.
