Therapy Services

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy focuses on treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Our physiotherapists use manual therapy, the latest technology such as laser therapy and exercise programs to reduce your pain, improve your ranges of motion, increase your strength and improve your overall level of function. Working with other practitioners at Activa Clinics, they treat conditions such as injuries sustained at work, in sports or in a motor vehicle accident, age related aches and pains, limitations in ranges of motion and many other conditions.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions (relating to nerves, muscles and bones). Chiropractic care is a holistic, hands-on healthcare approach, which is safe and non-invasive. Depending on the needs of the patient, using chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, exercise programs, electrical modalities, laser, life style counseling, patient education and many other techniques, chiropractors treat conditions such as headaches, neck and back pain, whiplash, sprains/strains, motor vehicle accident related injuries, arthritis, work related injuries, sports injuries, disc problems and many other conditions.

Massage therapy

Hands on treatment for the body's muscular system. Massage therapy focuses primarily on the treatment of the muscular system of the body, using different forms of manual therapy. Massage therapy can help with relaxation, reduce pain, tightness and stiffness, improve joint mobility, improve blood circulation, increase lymphatic drainage and improve overall function. Our experienced massage therapists work with the rest of our healthcare team to treat headaches, pain, fibromyalgia, injuries, carpal tunnel, whiplash, tension and many other conditions.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a safe, non-invasive, holistic form of ancient Chinese medicine, which has been used for centuries to treat a variety of conditions. Acupuncture involves the insertion of a series of specially designed, thin, flexible needles. These needles, which stay in the body for about 15-20 mninutes, do not cause tissue damage or bleeding. They provide stimulation of certain acupuncture points to treat headaches, pain, stress, digestive problems, addictive issues and many other conditions. If you are afraid of needles, another option is to have acupuncture treatment using our state of the art laser system, which requires no needle insertion, but is equally effective.

Laser therapy

A revolutionary form of treatment for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, using low intensity laser to promote healing within the cells. Our clinics are equipped with Theralase, a super-pulsed, cold laser machine, which penetrated up to 10 cm (4 inches) below the skin surface, healing tissue faster than any other cold laser on the market. This form of treatment is non-invasive and has a wide range of applications such as tissue and wound healing, treating musculoskeletal conditions and acupuncture treatments. Rather than destroying tissue, as with surgical (or hot) lasers, Theralase uses low intensity laser light energy to stimulate cells through a number of known cellular pathways in order to encourage tissue healing. This form of treatment is highly effective, drug free, non toxic, non invasive, very safe, easy to apply and painless.
